It's been a good life - one of the best I've ever had
I’ve had so much to be thankful for, even when times were bad
But there's one thing that I'm sure of - no matter how I place my bet

It's been a good life, though fortune and fame may pass me by
I've held something far more precious, which nobody can deny
Still, I know just where I’m headed – no matter how my course is set
