We have sought our lost companions on the battlefield of Time
On every desert we have wandered, on every mountain we have climbed
For we found our spirits shattered as our mission's fate was cast
And we knew that all that mattered was to be complete at last
We have stormed the gates of Heaven in our quest for Paradise
We have struggled for perfection, when simple goodness would suffice
In our fear of isolation, we withheld and we withdrew
When a tear of consolation was all we needed to renew
Could it be the independence that has left us on our own
Can give way to shared remembrance, as our legacy has grown
'Till a voice speaks out within us, from the West down to the East
With a clear and single question, with an urge that will not cease:
Can we learn to live in peace?
If we only seek the surface, we forget the forge within
Where our passion and our purpose find forgiveness can begin
As we purify the power of every shadow we’ve embraced,
Every foe that we’ve encountered, dream to dream and face to face
As we gaze into each other, we can see the ancient scars
Of our journey to tomorrow, of our yearning for the stars
And the angels we have wrestled on the outposts of the night
Fold their wings around our shoulders, as we stride towards the Light
Can you hear the holy Piper at the golden Gates of Dawn
As he calls our hearts to courage, ‘till our victory is won
Willing warriors of Wisdom, from the greatest to the least
Let us serve with grace and valor, that the reign of fear may cease
May we learn to live in peace
